Green Light for Migraines

Many people experience a sensitivity to light during a migraine attack, but low intensity green light may reduce it. Light can worsen pain and cause visual disturbances. According to Rami Burstein at Harvard University, researchers studied migraine in sufferers, recording how light affected pain: ‘We were surprised to see that blue light was no more painful than white or amber or red, but even more surprising was the finding that low intensities of green light did not increase migraine pain – in fact, it lowered the volunteers’ suffering.’
