    An active attitude towards health

~ even healthy people need health maintenance

The global natural products market is growing at an astonishing rate because the public has become disillusioned with pharmaceutical drugs and their myriad side effects. In Natural Medicine World we feature only products that are completely above board, and we welcome your letters should we miss something.

The great thing about a good lifestyle is that it depends on you; it is drug free, it supports health and is not difficult to do. So why do so many people avoid going there and opt for drugs instead? Dr Bernard Brom answers: ‘Perhaps it is because healthy people are healthy and don’t think they need to do anything about their health, and sick people believe that they need to go to a doctor and get drugs to treat what is wrong with them. Neither point of view is good enough.’

Gut health cannot be emphasised enough, especially in people with any form of mental condition (depression, anxiety, brain fog). Antidepressants can be ineffective because a possible underlying brain inflammation goes undetected. Be sure to watch the video on the types of inflammation and connect the dots… inflammatory conditions can make the blood-brain barrier hyper-permeable. Start with the gut!

Our authors receive no payment or any other form of remuneration from us or from the industry. They take time out from their busy schedules to write articles – and then we insist that they meet our deadlines, submit extra references, answer endless queries from reviewers and copy editors, and respond to the letters we receive from you, our readers. Here’s to all of them! May their tireless and tremendous efforts bring them well-deserved rewards.

    Yours in Healthy Living

The Udder Truth about Cow's Milk

    By |2022-10-19T18:31:01+00:00February 23rd, 2021|

    Table of Contents |

We have an enormous love affair with cow’s milk in all its forms – cheese, butter, yoghurt, cream, ice-cream, condensed milk and more. It is a food woven into the fabric, and into official dietary guidelines, of Western society. Cow’s milk was once the traditional symbol of purity and nutrition, but most milk today is not the same wholesome product our grandparents knew. Today benefits of drinking cow’s milk seem to be outweighed by the potential health risks associated with poor-quality, processed and contaminated milk, and by the debilitating symptoms resulting from cow’s milk allergy.

A whole range of chemicals at the physical level of body function are concerned with happiness and good feelings. The Wisdom in a Tooth

    By |2022-01-20T15:54:39+00:00February 23rd, 2021|

    Table of Contents |

Wisdom teeth often become a problem because there is not enough space for them to erupt normally. A space shortage will cause them to get trapped behind the existing teeth, becoming impacted. The majority of problems occur when a tooth is partially erupted, thereby increasing the risk of developing gum infection and decay.

Thankfully nowadays most medical practitioners recommend exercise as part of a plan for fostering a healthy pregnancy and a healthy mom. Death Begins in the Colon

I believe that the source of inflammation in chronic diseases lies in the gut. The now famous quote ‘Death begins in the colon’ originated with the Russian Nobel Prize- winning biologist Elie Metchnikoff (1845 - 1916), who postulated that the toxic by-products of the bowel bacteria are responsible for many diseases.
